Our immune system fights infection by identifying the foreign body and sending white blood cells to destroy it so
that it cannot cause illness and infection. In some individuals, our immune system responds to foreign bodies that
are not toxic or that do not cause infection and the white blood cells overreact, often causing more damage to our
